Jaipur the Pink City

Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan, is called the Pink City because of the colour of some of the historic buildings. It has many royal buildings such as the Hawa Mahal, the forts of Amber and Nahargarh, Jal Mahar, Jaigarh Fort and Rambagh Palace. There is also the historic observatory of Jantar Mantar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Jaipur also has its share of renowned festivals such as the Literature Festival and Kite Festival.

Romancing the lake at Udaipur

Udaipur has attractions that would really blow you away such as the Lake Palace, which is now a heritage hotel, glistening in the middle of the Pichola Lake, the City Palace on the banks of the Pichola Lake, the Monsoon Palace on top of a hill and the Fateh Sagar Lake famous for its three little islands and the colourful Hariyali Amavasya Mela in August/September.

The desert and the fort at Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer's landscape is dominated by the colossal Jaisalmer Fort that extends like a wall on a hill. Not only is the mammoth fort, erected in 1156, spectacular for a picture postcard, it also serves as a thriving metropolis with much of Jaisalmer's population accommodated here. Jaisalmer is also a great destination for experiencing desert treks and camel safaris, giving you opportunities for catching the wildlife of the desert.

Jodhpur's massive fort

A majestic fort is also the prime attraction in Jodhpur, Rajasthan's second largest city. The 15th century Mehrangarh Fort stretches to more than 5 km like a massive wall on top of a high hill. The fort has many unique and unforgettable architectural details that are snapshots to the past. The well preserved cannons are a delight for lovers of military history.

The hill station of Mount Abu

Mount Abu is a popular hill station on the Aravalli mountain range. It also has other attractions such as the Gaumukh Temple, the Dilwara Jain Temples, the AchalGarh Fort on top of a mountain and the spectacular Guru Shikhar peak.

Tigers and other wildlife at Ramthambhore

Ranthambhore National Park is the land of the tiger and other wildlife species such as striped hyenas, leopards, jungle cats, sloth bears, macaques, Hanuman langurs, caracals, etc. The Park is actually conceived around a historically significant 10th century fort.
